The Art of Being a Professional Makeup Artist

After years of study, I began my career as a makeup artist for important and renowned film productions. My first major experience was in 2004, when I worked for Crg International on the film “The Merchant of Venice,” which was shot right here in beautiful Venice.

First Steps in Cinema

My career continued with numerous other appearances in film productions, where I had the opportunity to work alongside great masters. This allowed me not only to learn the tricks of the trade, but also to make them my own, growing both personally and professionally.

Collaborations and Acknowledgements

In 2006, I collaborated with Mestiere Cinema as a make-up artist assistant for the film “Casanova,” the shooting of which took place between Venice and Vicenza. In the same year, also in my beloved Venice, I received an important recognition: I became responsible for the makeup of the actors for the film “The Fakir of Venice.”

The field of make-up is incredibly diverse, ranging from theatrical makeup to body painting, from special effects to body painting. Taking a course at Crisam Academy means immersing yourself in a world where beauty merges with art, discovering every facet of this fascinating profession. Make-up artists find their expression not only in fashion, between photo shoots and fashion shows, but also in everyday life, on special occasions such as ceremonies, or in the arts and entertainment sector, working behind the scenes in theaters, television studios and film sets. The Crisam Academy offers the opportunity to learn from professionals in the field, to engage with other passionate students and to experiment in the field, to discover one's vocation and specialize in the segment most akin to one's talents and aspirations.

My International Career

In 2009, my career took off when I started working with Kryolan Professional Make-Up. It was the beginning of my international adventure as a makeup artist and trainer, taking me around the world. I had the opportunity to be part of the makeup team for Miss Universe 2009 in the Bahamas and was invited for the Cinema Today event in Chennai, India. In the same year, I also worked with Inti Production Ltd. doing make-up and special effects for a National Geographic video presented by Voyager.

New Assignments and Reconfirmations

The following year, 2010, I was reappointed to the makeup team for Miss Universe 2010 in Las Vegas. It was a period of great growth: I started receiving assignments not only as a makeup artist, but also as a hair stylist. I collaborated with Teatrul Masca Production for the show “Venexia,” with Filmgood srl and with Some of Us Production for several commercials.

Film Productions and International Workshops

2011 saw me involved in another film production, this time with Duende Pictures Production. My role was again twofold: make-up artist and hair stylist for the film “La Redemcio dels Peixos.” My collaboration with Kryolan Professional Make-Up continued and, thanks to my experience, I had the privilege of conducting make-up workshops and seminars in Mexico, America and India.

My versatility allows me to range from bold and creative editorial looks to elegant and timeless bridal make-up, always with the same dedication to detail and customization. I guarantee a complete beauty solution, ensuring that makeup and hairstyling come together in one harmonious vision.

Building a Career: My Experience in Make-Up for Film, TV and Events

In 2012, I continued my position as head make-up artist for Kryolan Professional Make-Up workshops in India and Nepal. At the same time, I had the opportunity to collaborate with several major productions:

The latter collaboration was renewed for 2013 as well. In the same year, I was called to serve as the make-up and hair style manager for D&G signature events for the Cameleon Organization and for Mestiere Cinema’s film “Pizza and dates.”

In 2012, I opened my professional makeup academy Crisam Professional Make-up Academy

In 2014, my experience expanded further, becoming make-up manager for other film and television productions, including the TV show Marco Polo and Kevin Granahan Television Production programs.

I never stop learning, constantly updating my techniques and experimenting with new products and approaches to offer my clients the most innovative and effective solutions. Clients appreciate my professionalism, calmness, and ability to instill confidence, making each session not just a service but a rewarding and transformative experience.

My Prestigious Collaborations

I had the opportunity to work on several photo shoots, collaborating with Ronny Kiaulehn and Reinhold Messner on behalf of Epal Naturlich Qualitat. In the same year, Lanza&Baucina called me to participate and collaborate on make-up and hair style for guests at George Clooney and Amal Ramzi Alamuddin’s wedding, where I had the privilege of personally doing make-up for Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue America.

Successes in Advertising and New Weddings.

In 2016, my collaboration with Lanza&Baucina continued with the wedding of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Ana Ivanović. I took on new assignments in the advertising industry, taking care of make-up and hair style in commercials for Samsonite, Nuova Giulietta Alfa Romeo and JP Morgan. These experiences allowed me to collaborate with professionals such as Marco Tronchetti Provera, Antonio Baravalle, Michele Norsa, Silvia Falconer, Annalisa Bombarda and Roberto Zamboni.

Relief and High Fashion Events

Between 2017 and 2019, I had the honor of collaborating with Mastercard Italia, leading an exceptional team in designing stunning looks for guests at the Venice International Film Festival. This experience marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey into the world of high fashion and events.

Recent Acknowledgements and Projects

In 2021, my team’s expertise was reconfirmed by Dolce & Gabbana, which entrusted us with organizing the makeup and hairstyles for a memorable fashion show in Venice. This assignment further solidified our reputation in the industry.

Today, in 2023, I found myself at the heart of another significant event: the marriage of Chloe Stroll and Scotty James. My team had the privilege of taking care of the make-up and hairstyles, helping to make their special day an unforgettable moment.
